BRAIN
Lets talk about your BRAIN...
Ironically, not something we often think about!
Your brain is an extremely energy-hungry organ; even though it weighs only about 3 pounds, it uses 20% of your body's fuel—this means 1/5 of your glucose and oxygen supply.
Because it demands so much energy to run efficiently, anything that interferes with the delivery of its fuel—or how it processes that fuel—can lead to dramatic effects on memory, emotions, behavior and cognition (how you think and understand concepts).

FUEL=FOOD
What you eat MATTERS! Are you giving your brain the fuel it needs?
When we continually eat foods that flood the brain with TOO MUCH glucose (sugar, breads, pastas, and highly processed foods...) the brain stops metabolizing (breaking it down) it correctly and tries to protect itself by eventually forming plaques on the neurons. The build up of these plaques can lead to first signs of what we call "cognitive decline"—problems with memory, thinking, concentration and judgement.
And, yes, I'm talking about Alzheimer's disease and demetia. Alzheimer's is now the 6th leading cause of death (and the incidence is expected to continually rise).
Studies are now showing that cognitive decline can start as early as your late 20's and 30's, but the brain is so good at compensating you may not notice any symptoms of cognitive decline for decades. Scary stuff!

So what is the solution?
You have to treat your brain with RESPECT and feed it the food it is craving!
The good news? This is relatively simple! :-)
