Pay attention, there is no time to rush. |
I heard a wood thrush today. I was up early, walking the dog. We went through the farm field and took the trail that comes out on a stretch of dirt road.
I was throwing balls for Hazel and looking for stones when I heard it. So many bird sounds, who cares, right? Well, I do. Something about a wood thrush...those melodious notes coming from some mysterious place in the woods. It felt sacred this morning. Just me and my dog and the song of the thrush. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. It’s grey again. And the first black flies are out. Two things that are hard to appreciate. I’ve got to stretch this morning (except for the thrush.) Martha will care. Deposits. Lichen on a big piece of quartz. I’m going to haul it back. Russ comes through. Comments are closed.
