It's here...the silence. King Winter came again last night and touched the trees. Just enough to calm and quiet the earth. Just enough to make things beautiful. Just enough to make recess more fun for my boys. My husband has talked of moving back west. But I can't go. The thing about the winter is you have to live in it. You have to go out and breathe it in. If you stay inside, it can be miserable, the shock of the cold is too much. You have to put on the right clothes and move. You have to feel the contrast of the cold air on your face and in your lungs while a drip of sweat trickles down your back. Then when it's time to come inside, the cocoon of warmth feels delicious, not stifling. And while there are times in February when I am not feeling so romantic, somewhere deep inside I know that Winter is a part of me and I will not leave her. 1. Beautiful sculptures in the snow.
2. Snow silence. 3. Anjili's talk today. 4. A brown pup with snow on her nose. 5. I saw 4 mosquitos on my walk today and while there is not much I like about them, I appreciate their resilience and tenacity! Comments are closed.
